AFTER several years away the East Lothian Primary Singles Badminton Championship has returned.
The event, held on Friday, saw 22 children from various schools across East Lothian showcasing their badminton prowess.
The tournament, for primary school pupils in P5-P7, was organised by Active Schools in partnership with Badminton Scotland and local East Lothian badminton clubs.
The clubs provided volunteers to score and umpire the matches, with Dunbar Badminton Club gifting the winners and runners-up with new racquet grips.
Three Dunbar Grammar School Future Leaders also assisted, helping set up and manage the results tables.
The tournament was divided into four pools, with first and second place in each going to the A Championship knockout, third and fourth to the B Championship, and fifth and sixth to the C Championship.
James Lawson from Law Primary School was crowned the overall tournament winner.
Other winners included Sia Kaur (Wallyford Primary School) in the B Championship and Oscar Shields (Dunbar Primary School) in the C Championship.
A,B and C Championship runner-ups respectively were Oliver MacMillian from Law Primary School, Arhum Tahir from Wallyford Primary School, and Freddie Murrell from Dunbar Primary School.
