LEWIS Rollo has described it as “a dream” come true after securing his place on the grid for the full British Superbike class next season.
Rollo enjoyed a campaign to remember this year by taking the chequered flag in 25 Pathway class races and also winning the Rookie of the Year title along the way.
The Gifford racer also stood on the main Bennetts British Superbike podium at Snetterton and mixed it with the best on two wheels in Britain.
Now, following that success, Rollo and his INCompetition Sencat Aprilia team have been rewarded with the chance to step up a class for 2025.
Rollo thanked everyone for their continued support and has already started counting down to the first green light of the new season.
He said: “Myself and my family have all been into bikes all my life.
“Even my dad, before I was born, he was a British Superbikes, World Superbikes, Moto GP fan.
“It is not just my dream but my family’s dream and the sponsors’ dream, who go out and work every day to make it possible for me to go racing.
“They are living their dream through me.”
As well as winning two of the smaller classes last season, Rollo, who has been racing since he was just 12 years old, battled it out for the lead at Snetterton.
There, he finished just 0.222 seconds behind race winner Storm Stacey.
Rollo, who came home second, told Courier Sport he had “burst out greeting” at the result.
He added: “We have had a brilliant season this year.
“We knew it was going to be a big step up but it was the best thing we could have done.”
The chequered flag was waved on the 2024 season at Brands Hatch last month, with Rollo taking three wins out of three in the Pathway class.
However, the 25-year-old revealed that he had not been sitting with his feet up and preparations were already well under way for next season.
Rollo, who works for Rollo Developments, said: “At the end of last year, I just stopped training and hung up my leathers and had a good winter.
“I put weight on but I had a good year.
“In 2023, I was happy and I was obviously looking forward to moving up to the Pathway class.
“This year will be a totally different level again.
“The team are putting a lot of money and time into making this happen.
“Since the day I got back from Brands Hatch, I have had one day off work and that was to go to a track day at Donington.
“I am working with a personal trainer, I am on a diet and I am trying to lose some weight before Christmas.
“My preparations started the day after Brands Hatch.”
Ian Newton, team owner, was excited about what the future held for Rollo and the team.
He said: “It’s been an exceptional year: highs, lows and a huge learning curve.
“Everyone rose to the challenge and to win the Pathway class and the Rookie award is amazing.
“Lewis and the team worked so hard all year and it’s a real credit to everyone involved.
“We have taken away a lot this year, knowledge and experience which will help us immensely in 2025.
“We are delighted to be moving into the main Superbike class in 2025 and hugely grateful to Chris and Wendy from SENCAT for their continued support and enthusiasm.”
