A “MIRACLE” will be needed to help Adon Davie take the chequered flag and championship glory this weekend.

Davie trails Cameron Hall by 28 points going into the final two races at Brands Hatch.

And he knows that if his rival finishes both races, that will likely be enough to see him crowned Quattro Group British Super Sport Cup champion.

Davie said: “My chances have definitely not improved as I would have liked them to.

“The last two rounds were pretty difficult.

“Cadwell Park was going to be tough because of a lack of track experience and at Oulton Park we struggled with the set-up for most of the weekend.

“I made up a couple of places in race one and race two was half and half conditions and we got the set-up wrong, which cost me dear.

“It is a bit outwith my control but I will still give it everything.

“In the full Super Sport, they get double points for race wins this weekend whereas we do not.

“It is still 25 points for first, 22 points for second and so on.

“It will take some exceptional circumstances.

“I will try to win both races but it might take a bit of a miracle.”

Davie and Hall have been duking it out at the top of the standings since the season began at the start of May.

The Prestonpans racer took maximum points from five of the first six races but has seen his rival cling on to his exhaust pipe before passing him on the home straight.

Along the way, Davie has won six races this campaign compared to his rival’s four.

But consistency has proven key, as Davie has failed to finish two races.

In the end, it will all come down to two races round the near-four-kilometre Kent circuit.

Hall picked up a pair of second place finishes at the track earlier in the season.

While Davie, who works for Johnston Carmichael, came home in third spot in one of the races.

He said: “To be fair, I quite like the track.

“We have a couple of decisions on where to go in terms of set-up when we arrive.

“Even though I have been on the bike two years in Super Sport, we are still learning and have a couple of things to try.”

Beyond this weekend, the county teenager is already casting an eye to next season and again lining up on the grid.

The Ducati rider said: “The aim for next season would be Super Sport – whether it is the cup or full Super Sport, we will see.”
