MUSSELBURGH Athletic will fly the flag for East Lothian in the Scottish Cup next month (October).

The Honest Toun team won against Darvel but Dunbar United and Tranent saw their Scottish Cup journey cut short.

Elsewhere, Preston Athletic and Ormiston Primrose both missed out on the chance to pick up three points.

Musselburgh and Darvel could not be separated over 90 minutes at Olivebank on Saturday.

Instead, it took an extra time strike from Jonny Court to send the hosts through to the second round, where they will face Caledonian Braves.

At the opposite end of East Lothian, a Ross Nimmo strike had Bo'ness Athletic in front at half time at New Countess Park.

An Alexander Cunningham double had the visitors with one foot in the second round.

Gregor Goldie gave Dunbar hope but Nimmo wrapped up the scoring with a minute left.

Meanwhile, Tranent's bid to reach the second round was ended by Dundee North End.

The Midlands League champions scored three second half goals to wrap up a 4-0 victory.

All the action would come in the second half as Preston Athletic lost out to Kinnoull in the East of Scotland Football League First Division.

Adam Frydrychowicz put the hosts in front before goalkeeper Sam Townsley saved a Preston penalty.

It was game over when Ivan Nsimbi scored for Kinnoull to end Stevie McLeish's unbeaten start as Preston boss.

Finally, in the Third Division, Ormiston Primrose went down 5-2 at home to Edinburgh United, despite a double from Scott Moffat.
