South Challenge Cup – Second Round

Kick-off 2.30pm

HISTORY will be made as Cowdenbeath become the first former SPFL club to visit New Recreation Park.

A decade ago, the Fife side were playing with Hearts, Hibs and Rangers in the Championship.

However, relegations have them now in the Lowland League.

They will undoubtedly still be favourites to progress given they play four tiers above Ormiston but could the county club spring a surprise?

They come into the game on the back of defeat to Newburgh but would make headlines with a win.

Kick-off 3pm

REGULAR foes in the Lowland League and cup competitions in recent years, East Kilbride and Tranent meet again this afternoon.

The K Park club sit three points better off than their visitors, who are now under the management of Jonny Stewart.

The former Bonnyrigg Rose midfielder has enjoyed two wins out of two since taking on the role permanently.

An away win would be a real confidence booster for the East Lothian side, who defeated their rivals in the final of the Lowland League Cup last term.

The Honest Toun team challenged for promotion from the East of Scotland Football League last term and are again near the top of the Premier Division.

In contrast, their hosts finished bottom of the entire West of Scotland Football League last season.

The Ayrshire side have shown signs of improvement this term and sit clear of bottom spot but Musselburgh will be expected by many to go through.
