HERE were a number of outstanding performances by North Berwick athletes at the National Age Group Athletics Championships at Grangemouth last weekend.
North Berwick High School pupils Cerys Wright and Freya Brown, who compete for Lasswade AC, both claimed national titles in the under-15 girls in their respective events.
Wright took gold when winning the 1,500m in a time of 4m51s and Brown won the 800m in a time of 2m15.8s.
Archie Brown, also of North Berwick High School, won a silver medal in the under-13 boys’ long jump with a leap of 4.84m.
This adds to the brilliant silver medal he won at the under-13 boys’ National Pentathlon Championships earlier in the summer.
Branna Kenny, of Haddington Running Club Juniors, came second in her heat for the under-13 girls’ 70m hurdles.
That meant she qualified automatically for the final, where she placed seventh in a time of 13.60s.
