FINAL pre-season preparations take place this weekend as the first leg of the Jardine Cup is contested.
Newly promoted back to National League Division Two, Preston Lodge will welcome Musselburgh today (Saturday).
The cup, named after Tam Jardine, is contested each year between the two clubs and is currently held by Musselburgh.
Tam played for Preston Lodge throughout the 1960s and became the club’s president in 1991, while his son Brian was previously president of Musselburgh, who play in the Premiership, the top flight of Scottish club rugby.
The match kicks off at 3pm today (Saturday), with the second leg to be played during the festive break.
