LIZ Musgrove and Francesca McGhie have been named in the Scotland squad ahead of a global competition.
A 35-player squad, comprising 19 forwards and 16 backs, was picked for a training camp which started on July 29.
The four-week camp will see the squad whittled down to 30 before taking on Wales on September 6 and Fiji on September 14, before then taking part in the WXV 2.
Musgrove, who has won 18 caps for her country, is back in the squad after missing out on the 2024 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.

Bryan Easson, head coach of the national side, was pleased to have Musgrove, of North Berwick, back in contention. He said: “This is also a crucial time in the calendar cycle to bring in new faces and challenge our group.
“The likes of Leia Brebner-Holden, Gemma Bell, Holland Bogan and Lucia Scott have all played well during the Summer Series and we’re looking forward to offering them up this opportunity to join us.
“It is equally very pleasing to welcome Jenny Maxwell, Jade Konkel and Liz Musgrove back into our environment after an extended period out with injury.”
Musgrove is joined in the squad by fellow winger McGhie, who has 11 caps for Scotland.
McGhie, of Musselburgh, moved to Leicester Tigers at the beginning of last season.
Towards the end of next month, Scotland will head to South Africa for WXV2. They open against Italy on September 28 before facing Japan on October 5 and Australia a week later.
Easson added: “It can’t be understated the importance of these next few months as we look to ensure Scotland Women qualify for the Rugby World Cup 2025 and maintain a top-eight World Ranking position whilst competing in Cape Town.
“I believe this group can take us there.
“The level of blended experience we have is unlike any Scotland Women’s team that has come before it.”
