THE first round of midweek fixtures kicks off this evening (Tuesday) with three games in East Lothian.
Preston Athletic are the only county side not playing tonight but there are plenty of intriguing games.
In the Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL), Tranent host Bo’ness United at Foresters Park.
Unbeaten Musselburgh Athletic take on winless Dunbar United in the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) while Penicuik Athletic and Haddington Athletic, who both boast 100 per cent records, face off in Midlothian.
In the Third Division, Ormiston Primrose tackle Edinburgh United.
Match of the Day
Musselburgh Athletic v Dunbar United
East of Scotland Football League Premier Division
Kick-off 7.30pm
EAST Lothian’s first derby of the season takes place at the Olivebank Arena.
The hosts, who finished as runners-up last year, have started the season in fine form.
Nine unanswered goals puts them top of the pile with Haddington Athletic and Penicuik Athletic just behind.
Dunbar enjoyed an impressive first campaign back in the top flight and have been unlucky to only pick up one point from a possible six.
They will be looking to get back into the winning habit in what should be an entertaining contest.
Tranent v Bo’ness United
Scottish Lowland Football League
Kick-off 7.45pm
ONE point from a possible six is not the start that Tranent would have wanted.
The Belters take on Bo’ness United who have also picked up a single point from the opening two games.
Of course, it is still early doors but Tranent will be keen to get that first victory under their belts.
Penicuik Athletic v Haddington Athletic
East of Scotland Football League Premier Division
Kick-off 7.30pm
A BATTLE of two clubs with 100 per cent records after the opening two rounds of fixtures.
The hosts defeated Dundonald Bluebell on the opening day before a 3-1 triumph over Dunipace last time out.
Haddington enjoyed victory over Glenrothes before edging out Hutchison Vale on Saturday.
A victory for either club could send them top of the EoSFL Premier Division.
Ormiston Primrose v Edinburgh United
East of Scotland Football League Third Division
Kick-off 7.15pm
AN IMPRESSIVE comeback on Saturday saw Ormiston Primrose pick up their first three points of the season at Pumpherston.
The West Lothian side were 2-0 up before their visitors fought back to take the victory.
Now, Guy Kerr will be looking for his side to show the consistency that they struggled with last term and pick up three points.
Edinburgh United have an identical record to their hosts having won one and lost one of their opening two games.
