THE second week of the football season has two of East Lothian’s sides at home this afternoon (Saturday).

Tranent take on Berwick Rangers in the Scottish Lowland Football League while Luncarty are the visitors to Olivebank in the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) Premier Division.

Elsewhere in the top flight of the EoSFL, Dunbar United travel to Glenrothes while Hutchison Vale is the destination for Haddington Athletic.

Preston Athletic are also on their travels when they head to Thornton Hibs in the EoSFL First Division while Ormiston Primrose swap East Lothian for West Lothian and a trip to Pumpherston in the Third Division.

AN UNBEATEN record could go at Foresters Park as Tranent host Berwick Rangers.

The Belters drew 2-2 at Cowdenbeath last weekend, despite leading against 10-men.

Meanwhile, Berwick Rangers got their campaign up and running with victory over Linlithgow Rose.

This afternoon brings Tranent’s first home game of the season and the chance to get three points on the board.

Glenrothes v Dunbar United

TWO teams looking for their first three points of the season meet at the Warout Stadium in Glenrothes.

The hosts lost 5-2 at Haddington Athletic last weekend but did hold the lead for a spell.

Meanwhile, Dunbar United and Hutchison Vale shared the spoils at New Countess Park.

Dunbar were the surprise package last term and will be looking to build on that success.

Musselburgh Athletic v Luncarty

LEAGUE leaders after the first week of fixtures, Musselburgh Athletic will be looking to turn an impressive result into an impressive start.

The Honest Toun side defeated Edinburgh University 4-0 last weekend.

At the same time, Luncarty lost 3-0 against Tynecastle.

Liam Burns and his side are among the favourites for the league title and this presents an early chance to get points on the board.

Hutchison Vale v Haddington Athletic

VICTORIOUS on the opening day of the season, Haddington Athletic head to Hutchison Vale.

Scott Bonar’s side were 5-2 winners over Glenrothes and will be keen to build on that impressive result.

Hutchison Vale enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Premier Division last term and got off to a solid start with a draw at Dunbar United last time out.

Thornton Hibs v Preston Athletic

Kick-off 2.30pm

DEFEAT on the opening day of the season to Kinnoull was a blow for Preston Athletic.

However, in going down 4-3, there were plenty of positives to take from the showing.

Now, on a trip to Thornton Hibs, they will be hoping to turn those positives into points and get the season off and running.

Their visitors were 3-1 winners against Leith Athletic last time out.

Pumpherston v Ormiston Primrose

Kick-off 2.30pm

A FIRST away game of the season for Ormiston Primrose takes them to the Recreation Park home of Pumpherston.

Guy Kerr’s men were unlucky to go down to defeat against Stoneyburn last weekend and will be hoping for better luck on the road.

Pumpherston opened their season with a 2-2 draw against Hawick Royal Albert.
