EAST Lothian Swim Team (ELST) was celebrating after two members were crowned national champions.
In total, 25 athletes were in action at the Scottish Open Swimming Championships in late June.
The event, held at Edinburgh’s Royal Commonwealth Pool, is an opportunity for swimmers to test themselves against the nation’s best.
Conner Aspinall had an excellent meet, emerging as Scottish junior champion in the 400m IM, and 400m and 800m freestyle.
Ross Anderton also reached the top step of the podium, becoming Scottish junior champion in the 100m butterfly.
In the female categories, Zara Krawiec reached several A finals, finishing eighth in the 200m IM, fourth in the 200m freestyle, and sixth in the 400m freestyle.
She also claimed fourth place in the B final of the 200m backstroke.
Tegan Black came fourth in the B final of the 400m IM.
Panos Angelakis finished eighth in the A final of the 400m freestyle, Zach Slater came fourth in the B final of the 200m freestyle, and Calum Peebles was eighth in the B final of the 50m freestyle.
Jamie Ward, ELST head coach, was delighted with the team’s performance.
He said: “The Scottish National Open Championships is an important event in our summer racing calendar and I am delighted with the team’s performance. There were several excellent swims and an encouraging number of athletes earning places in the finals.
“This event sets us up nicely for the final events in the summer schedule.”
