STEFAN Krawiec has returned from the European Junior Swimming Championships with two bronze medals.

The East Lothian Swim Team (ELST) member was joined by former clubmate Luke Hornsey in heading out to Lithuania as part of the British squad.

Krawiec competed in three relays, as well as in the 100m and 200m freestyle.

In the shorter distance, he finished seventh in his heat in a time of 50.97s.

He then finished ninth in his heat for the 200m in a time of 1m54.78s.

The British quartet won their heat in the 4x100m freestyle in a time of 3m20.66s before taking more than a second off that time to finish behind Italy and France in the final in a time of 3m19.49s.

Krawiec was also part of the 4x100m freestyle mixed relay team.

He was selected for the heat, where the team finished third in a time of 3m33.85s, but did not swim in the final, where the British quartet came home fourth.

It was a similar story in the 4x100m men’s individual medley relay.

Krawiec helped the team to second in their heat in a time of 3m42.06s but did not swim in the final, where they came home in third spot.

Meanwhile, former ELST swimmer Hornsey, who now represents the University of Edinburgh, was also involved in individual races and relay action.

He came home sixth in his heats for both the 200m freestyle (1m51.71s) and 400m freestyle (3m57.50s), and took fifth spot in his 800m freestyle heat in a time of 8m08.51s.

He was part of the 4x200m freestyle relay team that finished second in their heat behind Germany, in a time of 7m24.29s.

Hornsey was also part of the quartet in the final, as they ultimately came home in sixth spot.

Britain finished seventh in the medal table with three gold, four silver and six bronze medals.
