FINDLAY Thomson and Robbie Deans will fly the flag for East Lothian when they represent Scotland’s under-20s side.
Both teenagers were named in Kenny Murray’s squad for the World Rugby U20 Trophy, with the first match played against Samoa at Edinburgh’s Hive Stadium on Tuesday, Scotland winning 123-15.
Scotland have been drawn in Pool A alongside Samoa, Hong Kong China and Japan, while Pool B is made up of Netherlands, USA and Kenya.
Thomson, who plays his club rugby with Watsonians, started his career at Dunbar.
The 19-year-old went on to play for Musselburgh and has represented Scotland at both under-16 and under-18 level.
Deans, who turns 20 in September, began playing rugby at Haddington when he was just six years old.
Since then, he has played for Musselburgh, Merchiston and Dalkeith, and now plays his club rugby with Edinburgh.
Scotland’s second game is against Hong Kong China tomorrow (Sunday) at 2.30pm before they face Japan next Friday at 7.45pm. The play-off game will be played on July 17.
