ANDREW Irvine has been crowned Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Scratch Division winner.
The final East Lothian Schools Order of Merit event was played at The Renaissance Club, host of this year’s Scottish Open, last Monday.
This was the 14th event in the series, the others having been hosted by Winterfield, Gifford, Haddington, Musselburgh Old, North Berwick, Gullane, The Glen, Royal Musselburgh, Kilspindie and Longniddry GCs.
A spokesperson for the competition said: “Huge thanks to all of the clubs that hosted us, ensuring we could offer local playing opportunities free of charge, to support junior golf in East Lothian.”
Irvine (Dunbar Grammar School/West Links Juniors) won the Scratch Division ahead of Ryan Pirie (Knox Academy/Haddington Golf Club). Over the 14 events, he won four, came second in three and was never out of the top five in any he played.
Meanwhile, there was also success for Ross High School.
Cameron Brown (Kilspindie Golf Club) was the Junior Golf East Lothian Order of Merit Handicap division winner.
He finished just ahead of Archie Brownlee (Knox Academy/Haddington Golf Club). Finally, North Berwick School celebrated success in the team event.
