AN ABERLADY teenager is on the right track for success after a hat-trick of wins.
Riding his newly acquired Kawasaki ZX-4RR, which is entered by Kirkcaldy Kawasaki and KLPM, Marley Mackenzie, 15, put aside his first-round disappointments at Brands Hatch.
Last month at Pembrey, he clinched maximum points in the second race and finished second on the podium in the remaining three races in the ACU Kawasaki Team Green Junior Cup.
And the North Berwick High School pupil was again in impressive form at Snetterton this month as he closed the gap on series leader Luca Wilkinson.
Mackenzie has been playing catch-up since the first-round disappointment but built on his impressive showing at Pembrey.
Victories in the first three races saw him move to the top of the standings by three points.
However, Wilkinson was able to take the chequered flag in the final race of the ACU Kawasaki Team Green Junior Cup. That allowed him to retake the top spot after 12 races, as he holds a two-point advantage over the county racer.
Attention now turns to a trip to Donington Park next weekend (June 1 and 2), where another four races take place.
The series continues until the end of September, with four races at Cadwell Park in July, another four back at Snetterton at the end of August and beginning of September, before finishing up back at Brands Hatch.
