A CUP final and a season finale are among the games being played today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).

Tranent wrap up their second season in the Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL) when they host Celtic B.

Meanwhile, there are four games today involving county sides in the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL).

Musselburgh Athletic and Haddington Athletic both face away trips in the Premier Division.

Musselburgh travel to Luncarty while Sauchie is the destination for Haddington.

In the First Division, Preston Athletic welcome Oakley United while Ormiston Primrose tackle Burntisland Shipyard in the Second Division.

Tomorrow, attention switches to Midlothian and the final of the East of Scotland (Qualifying) Cup where Dunbar United take on Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts.

Match of the Day

Preston Athletic v Oakley United

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

FOURTH bottom of the table, Preston Athletic’s season is in danger of petering out.

The Pennypit side have been inconsistent this term as evidenced by a victory over Whitehill Welfare followed up by a defeat to Kirkcaldy & Dysart.

They host an Oakley United side who look destined for back-to-back relegations.

Victory for the visitors would see them close the gap on Preston 13 points – surely too much to overhaul in the coming weeks.

Three points for Preston could be enough to lift them into mid-table.

Scottish Lowland Football League

Kick-off 3pm

ANOTHER season of change comes to an end for Tranent when they host Celtic B in a much-postponed league tie tomorrow.

The Belters started off with Max Christie at the helm but finish the campaign with Ian Little in the home dugout.

For a spell, it looked as if Tranent could be the main challengers to champions East Kilbride.

Now, they will look to finish the season with a win and to move above their opponents into fifth spot in the table.

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

THREE points might not be enough to keep Musselburgh’s hopes of league glory alive this weekend.

The Honest Toun team look a good shout to finish as runners-up to a Broxburn Athletic side who now need just one more win to be crowned champions.

Ultimately, Liam Burns and his side cannot influence what happens in the West Lothian side’s games.

Instead, they will focus on defeating a Luncarty side who seem determined to avoid relegation to the First Division.

Sauchie Juniors v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

AFTER an unsteady period, Haddington have found their form in recent weeks.

Now, they travel to Sauchie Juniors looking to edge closer to securing a top half finish.

Three points would also allow them to gain a measure of revenge for a 3-2 defeat at Millfield in October.

Their visitors also still have hopes of finishing in the top three of the EoSFL top flight.

Ormiston Primrose welcome Burntisland Shipyard

Ormiston Primrose v Burntisland Shipyard

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Kick-off 2.30pm

RELEGATION looks a distinct possibility for Ormiston Primrose after defeat to Tweedmouth Rangers.

The Berwick side now sit 13 points better off than Ormiston, who have nine games to claw back the deficit.

The first of those opportunities is against a Burntisland Shipyard side, who have been defeated in 13 of their 25 league games this season.

The reverse fixture saw Ormiston go down 5-1 in August.

Dunbar United v Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts

East of Scotland (Qualifying) Cup – Final

Kick-off 2pm

A PIECE of history could be made in Newtongrange as Dunbar United aim for their first cup triumph in senior football.

The Seasiders will likely go into the game against Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts as favourites given their league positions.

Kevin Haynes and his team have enjoyed an impressive campaign back in the top flight of the EoSFL and sit sixth in the table.

In contrast, their opponents find themselves in the relegation zone on goal difference.
