EAST Lothian’s under-35 bowlers reached the semi-finals of the knockout cup as they bid to retain the title they won last year.
A tough battle against Midlothian at the weekend, followed by a more comfortable quarter-final against Aberdeen, saw the junior side book their place in the last four of the competition.
The season finale is scheduled at Capital club Bainfield in mid-April.
East Lothian are also well represented at the season-defining national finals this weekend.
The newly formed triple of Mark Johnston, Lewis Betts and Derek Oliver take to the carpet at Perth Indoor Bowling Club.
They line up against Turriff in the semi-final tomorrow (Friday) at 6.30pm.
There is no rest for Oliver this weekend as he is scheduled back into action on Saturday afternoon (2pm) as he skips Jamie Higgins, Scott Kennedy and Billy Mellors in the semi-final of the fours against East Kilbride.
Scheduling of the potential national finals is done on an ad-hoc basis due to the duplication of competitors in multiple competitions. Spectators are asked to check on the East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club social media pages and the governing body website via the Scottish Indoor Bowling Association.
The East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club annual general meeting takes place on Monday at 8.30pm.
The club requests members attend to deal with arising matters and club business for the past season and 2024/25 season.
