CONNECTIONS between two East Lothian rugby clubs and their counterparts in Ireland have been strengthened.
Haddington and Dunbar both made the trip over the Irish Sea over the weekend to celebrate special links.
The 75th anniversary of The Friendship Cup was contested by Haddington and CYM Rugby Club Terenure, of Dublin – and the trophy returned back to Scotland as Haddington picked up a 54-12 victory.
Meanwhile, Dunbar and Skerries locked horns in the 72nd fixture between the two clubs.
On this occasion, it was the Irish side who came out on top 47-12, which means the Shield remains in Ireland.
