FORMER Preston Lodge and Musselburgh youngster Ally Miller has been called up to the Scotland squad for the first time.
The Glasgow Warriors back row is one of three players called into Gregor Townsend’s squad ahead of the final fixture of this year’s Six Nations championship.
Miller, of Longniddry, has been called up as a replacement, while Scotstoun team-mates Alex Samuel and Max Williamson are also training with the squad.
The call-ups come as Glen Young, Jamie Bhatti and Hamish Watson have all dropped out of the squad ahead of Saturday’s clash with title-chasing Ireland in Dublin.
Twenty-seven-year-old Miller, who has also played for London Scottish and Edinburgh Rugby, was previously capped for Scotland’s under-20s group.
He also spent three years as part of the Scotland 7s set-up.
Young, Bhatti and Watson have not been part of a single matchday 23 for Scotland during this year’s Six Nations campaign and they will not add to their international honours in Dublin either after being released from the squad.
