GARY Anderson has missed out on his bid for a third world title.

The Musselburgh man faced off against Brendan Dolan in the fourth round of the PDC World Darts Championship this evening (Saturday).

Anderson, who had already knocked out Simon Whitlock and Boris Krcmar to reach the fourth round, found himself 2-0 down against 50-year-old Dolan.

However, an impressive comeback saw the tie turned on its head with Anderson winning the next three sets 3-1.

Dolan won set six to ensure it was winner takes all in the deciding seventh set.

Anderson, who threw five 180s, lost the final set with Dolan going on to face either Raymond van Barneveld or Luke Littler, who also play tonight.
