BRENDAN Dolan stands in Gary Anderson's way of reaching the the quarter-finals of a world darts championships for the 12th time.
Anderson proved too strong for Croatian qualifier Boris Krcmar earlier this evening (Friday).
The Musselburgh man came through 4-1 to build on his 3-0 defeat of Simon Whitlock in the previous round.
Krcmar took the first set 3-2 before Anderson stepped up a gear and won the next four sets, dropping just four legs along the way.
Anderson had reached a quarter-final and a semi-final in the BDO World Darts Championship before making the switch to the PDC in 2010.
Since then, he has become a two-time winner and a three-time runner-up.
In 2015, he defeated sporting great Phil Taylor in a memorable 7-6 final before retaining his title 12 months later with a 7-5 win over Adrian Lewis.
Tomorrow (Saturday) evening, he faces 28th seed Dolan in another best of seven set contest.
The winner will then go on to the quarter-finals and will face either darts legend Raymond van Barneveld or teenager Luke Littler.
