ROSS Muir’s bid for the International Championship has been ended in the third round – after a stunning comeback to reach that stage.
The Musselburgh snooker star was competing against the world’s best in Tianjin, China.
Muir looked to be heading out as he trailed Hossein Vafaei 5-2 in the best-of-11 second round contest.
However, the 28-year-old rattled off four frames in a row, including a break of 93 in the final frame to secure a place in the third round against Wales’ Ryan Day.
Muir took the first frame but, in the end, lost convincingly to Day.
The former Musselburgh Grammar School pupil has already secured his tour card for the next year.
