ROSS Muir could be set for a showdown with seven-time World Snooker Championship winner Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Muir secured his place in the Northern Ireland Open, which starts on Monday, with victory over Brazil’s Victor Sarkis.
The Musselburgh potter clinched a 4-2 triumph and will face either O’Sullivan or Ahmed Aly Elsayed.
They are due to play their best-of-seven match on Sunday evening.
Muir and O’Sullivan have met four times over the last decade.
O’Sullivan has won each of the encounters, with the last coming in February at the Welsh Open, where the Englishman won 4-3.
