DARTS ace Gary Anderson has lifted his second ranking title of the year after winning the Players Championship 24 title.
The two-time world champion was superb over three days on the PDC ProTour, which culminated in him scooping the £12,000 top prize on Friday with an 8-4 victory over Ryan Joyce.
Anderson, of Musselburgh, defeated Kim Huybrechts 6-0 before knocking out Martin Lukeman 6-5 and Stephen Bunting 7-5 on his way to the final.
A 103.68 average helped him to victory over Joyce on Friday.
The 52-year-old won the final’s opening three legs and also led 6-2 before Joyce launched a fightback to halve the deficit.
However, Anderson, who won the PDC World Championships in 2015 and 2016, fired off an 11-darter and then a 12-dart leg to take the title.
Attention now turns to the World Grand Prix, which got under way on Monday.
Anderson opened up with victory against José de Sousa before losing out to Andrew Gilding yesterday (Wednesday).
