A TROPHY dating back 50 years has been won by Luke McLaughlin.
North Berwick West Links’ ‘Wee Course’ hosted the 50th Anniversary of the Malcolm Cup earlier this month.
Fiona Stephenson, daughter of Lady Malcolm, who donated the trophy in 1973, attended to present the winners with their trophies and prize vouchers.
Fiona and the North Berwick golf club invited all the players and their parents to afternoon tea in the clubhouse after play as a celebration of the event.
The competition was won by Luke McLaughlin.
The Malcolm Cup was the fifth of the summer ‘major’ competitions for under-14s at the Wee Course this year.
There was a very high standard of play throughout the summer holidays with Aedan Halliburton completing a hat-trick of victories in the Esmond Cup, Balfour-Melville Trophy and the Cree Medal.
All competitions are open to under-14s from all clubs and next summer’s dates will be published early in the new year.
