GRANT Forrest has scooped more than €266,000 after finishing third at the Irish Open yesterday (Sunday).
The county golfer finished just two shots behind Sweden’s Vincent Norrman at The K Club.
Rounds of 70, 67 and 69 fired Forrest, who lives near Haddington, into contention going into the final round.
However, a final round of 65 from Norrman saw him pip Forrest, who scored 70, to the top prize.
Forrest, alongside Ryan Fox, Thriston Lawrence and Shane Lowry, finished on 12-under-par, one stroke behind Germany’s Hurly Long and another shot adrift of the winner.
Attention now turns to the BMW PGA Championship, which tees off at Wentworth on Thursday.
