GOLFERS turned out in their droves as the Calder Cup and Crawford Cup competitions took place in North Berwick last week.
The Calder Cup is a putting competition with over a century of history in the town, taking place on the East Links Putting Green.
It was first played for in 1920, returning last year for the first time since 2019 following Covid-19 restrictions.
Participants played qualifying rounds on July 25 before finals day took place on Thursday, July 27.
In the Calder Cup, 16 qualifiers battled it out in matchplay format before Bob McNair emerged victorious.
The Crawford Cup, which runs concurrently for those 14 years old and under and is also played on the putting links, was won by Luke van der Post.
The event is run by North Berwick Community Council which also organised a finals day barbecue for players and spectators.
A spokesperson for the community council said: “Huge thank you to community councillor George Johnstone for all of his efforts in arranging this years Calder and Crawford Cup competitions – what a fantastic evening to end a super week of fierce competition.
“Congratulations to our 2023 champions Bob McNair, Calder Cup, and Luke van der Post, Crawford Cup.”
