LEWIS Rollo bounced back from a crash in qualifying to record his best result of the season at Donington Park.
Free practice saw him lead for a spell before finishing fifth.
Then, in qualifying, Rollo, who lives in Gifford, was in fine form and set off again going straight into P1.
However, on the start of lap six the IN Competition – Aprilia UK Racing rider had a high speed off at the first corner.
Undeterred by his crash and raring to go for the race, Rollo, who suffered a serious back accident at the same circuit last season, started the race sixth on the grid.
Rollo was keen to get away and shot off up to the first corner but was nudged out by Franco Bourne.
The county rider moved back a place into seventh, where he remained for the next five laps before forcing his way back to fifth spot.
He is now sitting seventh in the championship.
