MARIA Lyle has claimed gold at the British Universities and Colleges Sports Championships in Manchester.
The Dunbar athlete was representing Edinburgh Napier University at the competition over the weekend.
Lyle finished third on the track in the women’s ambulant 100m but first overall by virtue of raza points.
The 23-year-old, who earlier this year returned from the World Para Athletics Dubai Grand Prix with silver and bronze medals in the T35 100m and 200m events, has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy.
She spoke to Courier Sport earlier this year as she targets a third Paralympic Games after surgery on her foot.
The former Dunbar Grammar School pupil will participate at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris in July.
She said: “That will be one of our first opportunities to qualify for [the Paralympics in] Paris the following year.”
