LEWIS Rollo is counting down to the green light as the new season gets under way this weekend.
The motorcycling star will be on the grid at Silverstone as the curtain goes up on the new National Superstock season.
Rollo, who has rejoined the IN Competition Aprilia team, enjoyed a fruitful testing sessions at the Northamptonshire circuit ahead of the new campaign getting under way.
He said: “Donington we never got many laps in with the weather and conditions but we moved on to Silverstone and worked our way through a few things as a team whilst I got more comfortable on the bike every session.
“To leave the test second overall in horrible conditions is great for myself and the team but in each individual session we were always up at the sharp end, that’s the main thing.
“It was a shame not to get any dry laps in as that’s what we need just now but we move on to round one and will give it 100 per cent as a team.”

Rollo, who lives in Gifford, is no stranger to the team, having known the owners, Ian and Myra Newton, since he was just 12, when he won the Aprilia Superteen Championship.
Then, in 2020, he finished third in the National Superstock Championship.
However, he has endured a couple of challenging seasons, including suffering a serious back injury last term.
His new team were pleased to say he had slotted back in well and was working alongside chief mechanics David Jenkinson and Alex Taylor.

His team boss said: “Our first official BSB test could not have gone much better.
“The team worked very hard and made lots of changes for Lewis to try and he adapted very quickly to them all.
“Lewis is the same person as we all remembered previously and a pleasure to work with.
“All the team is looking forward to the first round in a week’s time. A big thank you to all the people who make it possible.”
Rollo, 23, has already set himself the ambitious target of winning the championship.
Last week, he told Courier Sport: “At the end of the day, it is not an unrealistic goal.”
Action gets under way at Silverstone tomorrow (Friday).
