A STUNNING comeback saw Gary Anderson keep his hopes of a third world title alive last night (Wednesday).
The Musselburgh native looked to be heading out of the PDC World Championships at London’s Alexandra Palace.
He trailed 3-0 in the first to four contest with Ian White and his rival even had a dart to win the match.
However, 51-year-old Anderson, who won the tournament in 2015 and 2016, rediscovered his form at just the right time.
He reeled off the remaining four sets to clinch his place in the last 16.
Anderson, along with fellow Scots Alan Soutar and Peter Wright, is back in action today (Thursday).
The East Lothian man, seeded six, faces fellow former world champion Rob Cross, who has already knocked out five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld.
Cross won the title in 2018 after defeating Phil Taylor in the final.
The winner will go on to face either Chris Dobey or Luke Humphries in the quarter-finals on New Year’s Day.
