DUNBAR teenager Maria Lyle won a second bronze medal of the IPC World Para-Athletics Championships in London.
The 17-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, claimed her second third-place finish - this time in the T35 100m, a time of 14.45 seconds yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
Her Australian rival Isis Holt took gold in a world record time of 13.43 seconds, while China's Xia Zhou took silver.
Speaking to Courier Sport from London, the Paralympian revealed that she was unable to run until this week due to a leg injury she picked up in a holding camp in Paris.
She thanked the British Athletics medical team for ensuring she was able to take her place, and said in a post on Twitter that fighting through the pain was "totally worth it."
The former Dunbar Grammar School pupil wrote: "Happy to walk away (well limp) with another bronze medal!
"In lots of pain now but totally worth it."
Her two medals will go alongside three she won at the championships in Doha two years ago.
