A Ring doorbell captured the moment that the firework was set-off near the home.

The resident who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Courier: “Our house was targeted with a firework on Monday evening and the sound was like an explosion."

A picture shared with the Courier shows a scorch mark near the gas pipe at the home.

The resident added: "My husband and I looked out of the window but saw only smoke.

"When we opened the front door, we were met with thick smoke and the smell of something burning.

"It turned out to be a firework and the debris was scattered all over my husband’s van.

"I was shocked and shaken, especially after realising the next morning that the firework had narrowly missed the gas pipe. If it had hit, it could have caused a devastating explosion, potentially killing us.

"This experience has been terrifying and life-changing.”
