THE opening date for a new café, bar and restaurant in Musselburgh has been announced.

Lido Musselburgh will open its doors next Saturday (December 14), bringing Mediterranean flavours to the town.

Company Buzzworks, which is also behind The Herringbone in North Berwick, already has a number of venues across Scotland and is creating more than 60 new jobs with Lido Musselburgh.

The venue will open at 9am on December 14, welcoming guests for a weekend of dining before closing for two days on December 16 and 17.

This will allow the team some time off after weeks of training and preview openings.

Lido Musselburgh will then fully reopen on Wednesday, December 18, continuing to offer its all-day dining experience to customers.

Stephen Buchanan, who is leading the project, said: "We’re delighted to share the opening date for Lido Musselburgh and welcome bookings ahead of the big day.

"Our menu celebrates the finest Mediterranean flavours and we can’t wait for guests to experience our hand-stretched wood-fired pizzas, freshly prepared pastas, and everything in between.

"We’re incredibly proud to bring Lido to the east coast and showcase the passion and care we put into every dish."

The restaurant will feature a wood-fired pizza oven, bringing Neapolitan-style pizzas to the community, alongside a menu of fresh pastas, chargrilled dishes and desserts.

From breakfast rolls and cakes to lunches and evening meals, Lido Musselburgh "promises something for everyone".

A 'to go' area with its own entrance will also launch early next tear, making it easier for guests to enjoy Lido’s flavours at home.
