A BUSY time lies ahead for Musselburgh-based Clark Community Choir, which is set to spread Christmas cheer at events throughout the county.

Suzanne Walker, choir convenor, said: “Christmas really is the highlight of the Clark Community Choir calendar and we look forward to spreading extra festive cheer through the joy of singing.

“Getting into care homes and attending light switch-ons really gets us into the hearts of our local communities.”

She added: “We would love a full house at our Christmas Extravaganza panto on Saturday, December 14, at 2pm at the Tranent Fraser Centre – expect three wise people from the East (Lothian), set on a snowy Musselburgh Race Course, and a hippo.

“You’ll hear lots of your favourite Christmas carols.

“It is fun for all the family and an important fundraiser.”

The choir will be at the Christmas market at historic Newhailes House & Gardens at Musselburgh this Saturday at 12.30pm.

The singers will take part in the torchlight parade and switch on of Musselburgh’s Christmas lights outside The Brunton on Sunday, at 6pm.

Other events include a performance at St Anne’s Care Home, Windsor Gardens, on December 7.

The choir already has a busy 2025 planned, with a special joint concert with a French choir in April as part of the celebrations of the town’s twinning with Champigny-sur-Marne.
