A STREET in Tranent is closed to vehicles and parking suspended for three weeks due to resurfacing works.
Beginning on Monday, Caponhall Drive is closed from its junction with Caponhall Road during working hours until December 20.
About 170 metres of road are affected to facilitate carriageway repair works being carried out by East Lothian Council.
Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access is being maintained.
Residents who require use of their vehicle during working hours are asked to park outwith the extent of the works.
Refuse and recycling bins will be emptied as normal, as long as they are out before 7am on collection days.
Vehicle access will be maintained during weekends and outwith working hours, which take place from 8.30am until 4pm.
Pedestrians are warned not to enter the working area for safety reasons.
The traffic notice states that “during resurfacing works, the existing surface will be sprayed with a black bituminous emulsion, which becomes very sticky.”
It warns that the substance will readily stick to soles of footwear, bicycle tyres and pets' paws, and is difficult to remove.
