A WOMAN who shouted and swore at a relative while he was attempting to contact the police has been admonished after she stayed out of trouble for six months.

Rachel Chart was arrested and charged after she behaved in an aggressive manner towards the man during an incident on April 9 last year.

Chart repeatedly shouted and swore at him and followed him around her home on Riverside Drive in Haddington while he attempted to phone the police.

She also admitted making offensive and derogatory remarks to the man when she appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in May.

Sheriff Wendy Sheehan agreed to defer sentence for six months for 40-year-old Chart to stay out of trouble and be of good behaviour.

Chart did not appear at the city court last Monday but solicitor Mary Moultrie, representing her, confirmed that her client had not come to the attention of the police since her last court appearance.

Sheriff Sheehan said she was content to deal with the matter in Chart’s absence and admonished her on the offence.
