THE opening date of a new restaurant in the centre of Haddington has been pushed back.
La Dolce Vita, on the town’s High Street, was due to open on Thursday.
However, “delivery delays and technical issues” have seen the opening date changed to Monday, December 2.
The business, which will be based in what was previously The Grain, took to social media to highlight the delay.
On Sunday, they said: “We would like to offer our sincerest apologies, but we have this morning made the difficult decision to postpone our opening date until Monday, December 2, at 10am.
“This has been a very difficult decision for us; however, due to some delivery delays and technical issues, we would not be in a position to offer the best experience to our customers if we opened earlier than this date.
“We have contacted customers who have made reservations for November 28, 29, 30 and December 1 by email as our priority before posting this update on social media.
“We hope you understand that we want to offer the best customer experience and this delay will help to ensure this is possible.”
La Dolce Vita, which translates into English as 'The Sweet Life', will be led by Stefano Marongiu, who has spent 30 years “perfecting his craft in Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe", moving from Milan before working at East Lothian's Archerfield and Prestonfield House in Edinburgh.
According to the business, “every dish at La Dolce Vita is made with love and the finest ingredients”.
