A TOWN bakery has closed its doors as new tenants look to take over.
Allan’s Bakery on Tranent High Street was run by baking brothers Allan and Chris Shaw, who announced in April that they had made the “difficult decision” to cease trading.
The brothers also operate a shop on Restalrig Road in Edinburgh and opened their second location in Tranent last August.
Last week, they shared an update that “a new tenant has been found for the property” and, as a result, they closed the bakery doors for the final time on Saturday.

The business posted on Facebook following the closure: “Thank you again to all our customers who visited our shop during our time in Tranent.
“We have had such a lot of feedback on how much people like the rolls and bran scones!
“We still have our bakery at Restalrig Road, Edinburgh, and we are still available for wholesale orders.”
