MUSSELBURGH’S festive lights will be officially switched on by the stars of the pantomime A Christmas Carol.
The Brunton Theatre Trust is collaborating with Wonder Fools theatre company to present the new panto, with original songs, this year.
The show is inspired by Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas story and is set in East Lothian.
The switch-on ceremony on Sunday will be preceded by a torchlight parade which will start at the Old Town Hall at 6pm.
The parade will make its way to the Brunton Hall on Ladywell Way, where a short outdoor carol service will take place at 6.30pm before the switch-on.
All are welcome to attend the event, which is organised by Musselburgh & Inveresk Community Council.
Panto performances will run from December 4 to 14 at the Corn Exchange in Haddington; and from December 17 to January 4 at Loretto Theatre in Musselburgh.
The Brunton, which used to host the pantomimes, has been mothballed after potentially unsafe reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) was found.
