A HOLIDAY let which is only expected to be occupied for up to half the year has been given the go-ahead.
Liam Kirk has been given the green light to change the ground-floor flat on Haddington’s Victoria Road into a short-term holiday let.
East Lothian Council was told that the two-bedroom property could accommodate up to four guests and was most likely to be used by those visiting local amenities, relatives or requiring a base that was easily accessible to other places.

According to the planning officer’s report: “The accommodation is likely to appeal to professionals, couples and most visits would be let to guests within the same household.
“It is expected the property will be occupied three to four days during the week.
“The average stay is likely to be one to two nights during the off season and three to seven nights during peak season.
“It is expected the property would be occupied 40-50 per cent of the year.
“The applicant notes an agency has been commissioned subject to necessary approvals to meet and greet guests, as well as act as a point of contact for guests.
