A museum's series of winter talks continues next week, as it explores an historic employment system.
The Coastal Communities Museum, North Berwick, has been hosting a series of talks over the winter months, with the next instalment, 'Bondagers and the Bondage System,' set for Thursday, December 5.
Presented by Dinah Iredale, the talk will delve into the lives of Bondagers, women workers who were part of the Bondage System.
This employment method, prevalent in south-east Scotland and Northumberland, involved the employment of a hind, a skilled ploughman, and a bondager.
This system was a staple of farm life throughout the 19th century, extending into the early 20th century.
The bondagers were noted for their distinctive, colourful costumes, which included an 'impressive' hat, serving as their work uniform.
The talk will also touch on a dispute in 1866 that led to the system's gradual decline.
The event will take place at 7.30pm in the chapel area of St Andrew Blackadder Church, North Berwick.
It is open to all, with free entry for members of the Coastal Communities Museum and a £5 donation for non-members.
The talk will be followed by light refreshments.
