YOUNGSTERS at Knox Academy have been thanked for their efforts in keeping items from landfill.
The Haddington secondary school hosted Lil’s ReUse Fest last month.
Sue Cook, the school’s headteacher, said: “Thanks to your donated items, shopping and the incredible volunteering from Meadowpark young people and others, we collectively kept 1,567kg of items in circulation (plus seven bikes).
“This has a huge carbon impact, at some estimates up to 39,175kg of CO2e, as well as helping combat the cost of living and over-consumption crises.”
