PLANNING approval has been extended for six proposed semi-detached properties in Prestonpans.
The origin of these plans dates back to 2004, when four houses were planned to be erected on the site of the old demolished clubhouse of Preston Lodge Rugby Club, but these plans lapsed in 2009 before construction began.
In 2014, new plans were put forward to erect six semi-detached houses with drives and gardens on Rope Walk.
These plans were accepted with conditions in early 2016 but had to be extended in 2020, and now again this year.
The new extension grants approval for three more years, with the developers also needing to provide notice of final setting out details before official construction can begin.
Part of the reason for this delay is the need for a surveyor to examine whether there are mine shifts directly under the site.
The site is also on a gradient, which means that ground and first floor levels have to be adjacent to existing land.
