FESTIVE lights will illuminate Longniddry’s streets following the village's annual switch-on on Friday.
The main event, at 6pm on Links Road, will be preceded by piping and drumming from 5.45pm, and will be followed by a lantern parade past the church to the community centre.
Children are invited to decorate a lantern to bring to the parade and display in the community centre during the evening.
Lantern design ideas and tealights can be collected from the centre free of charge.
Mulled wine, festive snacks, a barbecue and Christmas music from Cockenzie & Port Seton Community Choir can be enjoyed at the community centre.
Children’s crafts will also be available, as well as the chance to visit Santa at his grotto.
At the church, pizza will be for sale, alongside craft stalls and music from Longniddry Belleplates.
For the first time, Links Road will be closed from the Longniddry Inn access to the junction with the access to the shops' car park from 5.45pm until 6.15pm. Organisers have asked attendees to avoid using this section of Links Road between these times in order to assist the running of the event.
Stewards and police officers will be on hand to assist and direct traffic.
