A SERIES of sewing workshops at libraries in Tranent and Haddington will launch next month.
The collaboration between Fixing for a Future – a project of Sustaining Dunbar – and East Lothian Libraries aims to bring regular, free sewing skills workshops to different communities.
Rosie Harrison, project officer, said: "Our brilliant sewing tutor, Sheena Carss, and I have just run our first two training sessions with 10 new volunteers.
“The skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for all things repair that this team has to share is unbelievable and I have no doubt these workshops are going to be really popular.
“People can learn the basics, right from how to thread a sewing machine, get help with their own sewing projects, learn all kinds of clothes and textile repairs (patching, hemming, darning), as well as having the opportunity to meet new people and become part of our repair community, working together to save pounds and the planet!”
