A NEW ice rink will open at Dalkeith Country Park for the first time as part of its Christmas opening night.
The park will kick off its WinterFest Opening Night next Friday (November 29), with festivities starting at 6pm in Restoration Yard's Courtyard.
The new artificial ice rink will open earlier than the other festivities at 2pm, with skating available until 9pm.
Ice skaters will be able to skate under the twinkling lights beside the Orangerie, then relax by the nearby fire pits.
The event, including car parking, is free to attend.
Santa will be at the event to switch on the Christmas lights.
The night will also feature local artisan stalls and late-night shopping.
Restoration Yard’s food truck, The Pink Elephant, will be serving hot bites.
Visitors can also stop by The Coffee Bar for seasonal treats.
Local artisan stalls, such as Seriously Dough, O'Donnell Moonshine and Trosseau Jewels, will be in the Courtyard to offer handcrafted goods, artisanal spirits and handmade jewellery.
Santa will make an appearance at 6.30pm to switch on the Christmas lights in the courtyard.
Restoration Yard will extend its hours for the event, staying open for Christmas shopping until 9pm.
The shop will be offering a range of gifts, including custom hampers, stocking fillers and luxury presents.
