A SILENT auction is under way for an upcoming charity fundraiser.
The Sleighbell Ball, a popular festive event, is returning after a four-year break, raising funds for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC).
The ball, taking place on Sunday at Belhaven Hill School in Dunbar, is being run by a group of parents who hope to bring back the festive spirit while supporting a good cause.
The event was previously held at the Marine Hotel in North Berwick.
The tickets for the party have already sold out, but the organisers are encouraging people to participate in the auction or make donations.
The auction, which can be accessed at jumblebee.co.uk/auction/detail/auction_id/Sleighbell2024, will close on the day of the party.
The organisers – Natasha Amos, Gill Harper, Emma Younger, Mel Shepherd and Vix Turner – have invited primary schools across East Lothian to participate.
The group hopes to raise a "substantial" amount for ECHC.
They have sold more than 160 tickets at £15 each, with each child also selling raffle tickets.
The party is aimed at children in P1 and P2.
The Sleighbell Ball has been running for 40 years but had to be halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
