AWARD figurines for the first ever Pride of Prestonpans event have been revealed, created by a well-known county artist to pay tribute to the women of the town.
In August, the Courier reported that an awards ceremony would take place for the first time to celebrate the town's unsung heroes, organised by Prestonpans Community Council.
Now, three sculptures have been unveiled which are inspired by Prestonpans' industrial history.

The figurines have been created by Cockenzie artist Andrew Crummy, well known for his work on the Great Tapestry of Scotland and the Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry.
Mr Crummy told the Courier it was an "honour" to be asked to create the sculptures.
He said: "They are made out of clay, hand-made, and they are fairly hefty sculptures.
"The idea behind them is for the statues to be women holding up some of the industrial elements of Prestonpans, coal, bricks and salt, that the town was well known for producing.
"The whole point of the Pride of Prestonpans is to highlight unsung heroes who haven't had the recognition, which I really like and it fits in well with my own work as an artist.
Mr Crummy was approached by Prestonpans Community Council in January and collaborated with them to create the sculptures, which will be handed over to the winners during the ceremony.
Categories include, under-18, over-18 and groups.
Joseph Simpson, community councillor and the lead organiser of the event, said: "We were so lucky that such a busy and talented local artist like Andrew jumped at the chance to take on the task of producing trophies for the Pride of the Pans awards.
"We are so impressed at the way these statues capture the heritage of Prestonpans and the role of ordinary women in the day-to-day life of the town.
"We will be proud to present these trophies to our unsung heroes and we will find a way to put the trophies on show so all can appreciate their beauty."
The event is set for Friday, 6.30-9pm at Prestonpans Community Centre, located on Preston Road.
