A MOTORIST has been charged with careless driving in relation to an alleged incident involving a lollipop person.
Constable Kiera Edmond highlighted that an incident was reported to police in Haddington on October 10.
The written report, which was sent to Haddington and District Community Council ahead of its meeting this evening, notes that the school crossing patrol guide at Peachdales reported a vehicle “not stopping for him whilst carrying out his duties on the road”.
The police officer's report continues: “The driver of the vehicle has since been charged and reported for careless driving.
“Speeding/school crossing patrols at Peachdales/West Road remains a priority and I will continue to be out in the morning during school drop-offs as and when I can.”
